What a difference a week makes, a large storm has dumped around 20 inches of snow throughout the Lake superior region, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less but the snow machines are venturing out again now that we have snow.

Some bush roads and trails may be passable however with drifting it may get a bit hairy out there.

There is lots of snow out there for snow machines, maybe to much for quads unless you are running tracks or chains.

Inland lakes are iced in for the most part except where current opens it up. Black bay has lots of ice and Mazukama/Kama are developing medium to thick ice with numerous fisher people venturing out.

Black Bay from Hurkett has good fast ice in the with some pressure ridging and separation taking place. Snow machines are the vehicle of choice now.

Whitefish and Lakes west of Thunderbay are solid for the most part except those with current keeping them thin and/or open.

With the dumping of snow comes the slush so be aware of slush conditions .
