Well, it snowed lots. It seems to be snowmobiles, snowshoes and maybe even skis on some trail out there. Of course, more snow means more drifts and more slush on the lakes. Slush conditions on average are still Ok locally; other lakes are reporting thicker slush with deeper snow.
Nipigon River Bait and Tackle have abundant minnows with a fresh delivery just arrived. Rentable sleighs, augers, rods equipment and maps are also available.
Snow cover is 2+ feet in the area around Nipigon with more just north, west and east. Drifting snow throughout the region makes for very deep snow near shorelines and along roadways.
Snowmachines are around everywhere now. Packing commonly used trails over the coming week or so should make for an excellent weekend to get out and enjoy the winter.
Seasonal temperatures are hanging around for the foreseeable future with nighttime temperatures hopefully cold enough to keep the slush to a minimum.
