Snow depth is still minimal with some serious melting recently and a little replenishment the last couple of days. A little more snow to the north of course, you dont have to go far beyond the effects of the lake. Non-snow cooled snow machines are probably OK however there really isn’t a cushion of snow so could be bumpy.

Most trails and bush roads are still ATV/4×4 passable with some isolated deeper snow.

There is very little snow on ice covered areas and windswept areas are near bare. The melt reformed the top layer of ice in most places.

Ice thickness of small inland lakes are for the most part thick enough for ice fishing at  with some ice on small stocked lakes already over 10″ to 12″. Ice thickness is never uniform, especially at this time of year and there may be localized slush with the recent warm up – should refreeze now that its cold again.

Black Bay from Hurkett has good fast ice in the with some pressure ridging and separation taking place.

Mazukama Bay is ice covered with with thin to medium ice and Kama is a little behind that. People are venturing out and ice fishing both area, always be aware and test ice thickness and pressure ridges.

Whitefish and Lakes west of Thunderbay are solid for the most part except those with current keeping them thin and/or open.
